GPS By: Patsy Weiser
Have you ever been lost or directionally turned around? That is not a good feeling. In fact, it would be easy to let panic set in.
The other day as I was driving my car in unfamiliar territory, I was totally relying on my GPS to get me to my destination. There I was, basically lost and putting all my trust and faith in a machine. It occurred to me that as Christians that is the way we should live on a daily basis. But instead of a machine, putting all our trust and faith in God.
Basically we are facing each day as if it is unfamiliar territory. We have not been down that road before and do not know what is around the next bend or even where we are going. That can be frightening if we are trying to do it on our own. However if we will plug into our own personal GPS (God’s Perfect Solution), we can relax, sit back, and let Him lead the way. Unlike a car’s GPS that can mess up or break down, He tells us in His Word, that He will never leave us nor forsake us. What a comforting thought!
However in order to take advantage of this service, we must put God first in our lives and live in constant communion with Him. As we become less and He becomes more, our stress level diminishes. This is not always easy and requires us to spend quality time in the Word and with Jesus. Then we can be assured that we will never be lost again, and He will get us where we need to be one day at a time.
